2020, 31 December Hello there! After so long, I found my way back into writing the blog. I feel that this is going to be the love-hate year for me. How am I not right? (yep) Had I listed down the timeline for the rest of the 2020 year, I am going to impress myself for sure.  After the downfall in June, I got a call from my former supervisor purposing me to be back to work as usual because they need a teacher, well technically my position that I left hehe.  of not getting any text and whereabout of the so-called-new-position that I secured in Feb 2020, I took a risk and continue working as a Learning Facilitator again. (i am in my embarrassment for at least a month) In a positive note, I believe that they reached out for me out of pity that I lost my job out of the blue and they need the potential that I offered since last Feb 2019. This was what I've been planted inside my mind so that I don't find this awkward to be back working at a place that I ditched not so long ago.  And
Day 29 of Ramadhan,  22nd May 2020. Here we go again and I'm here trying to post something to make up this jumpy entry from two weeks ago I suppose.

Sangkaya with ingredients from home

Hey. Mon, 4th May 2020 Woke up this morning and been craving for Sangkaya by Boat Noodle. I looked up for the recipe and the recipe looks simple and something that I'm confident with. I asked my mother whether she felt like eating it and showed the photo. Well, she approved! I took the pandan leaves with my mom's company because I don't know much about it. Hee. Yep, another leaves that we have in the backyard. I'm so thankful for having it at home or else I need to go and buy them (what a hassle). The ingredients: Sangkaya (Blend) 6 pieces of Pandan leaves 1/2 cup of water (In a saucepan) (you may swipe the ratio bet these sugary items if you have a sweet tooth) 2 tbsp of palm sugar (I used brown sugar) 1 tbsp of white sugar 1tsp green food colouring 1tsp salt 1 tbsp corn starch 1 small box of coconut milk 1/4 evaporated milk (for serving) Steamed bread You may use any bread I used white bread (gardenia) (optional if you want to cut

Self-reflect

اسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته، Hi all. Sun, 3rd May 2020 photographed by mi 4x Yesterday was today, today is today and tomorrow will be today. Do I make any sense? I bet you ponder upon this quote that I made up a few days ago while chit-chatting with my nephew. This quote crossed my mind as time goes by. I figured there is the truth behind this confusing lingering words. The repetition object in a sentence that leads to various meaning out of it. I always think about what will happen if I did not make that decision that I made yesterday. What if it could change my life drastically? Why I follow this path? When will I ever stop regretting thing? Who is going to stay put in my life till the end? How is my ending is going to be? There are lots more unthinkable ideas that pop up in my mind. All in all, I still couldn't find the answer. Let just assume this is what everyone has in the back of their mind. It is a matter of how you take things to put at ease. I

Skincare haul

Image
Hi, 2nd May 2020 Almost 2 months I was staying indoor, quarantine myself with family. My sister and her husband do the shopping most of the time. Obviously, I've been chilling myself and do the online shopping hee. After so long, I went for groceries shopping literally and did a bit of skincare shopping spree. I was too overwhelmed with the discount displayed and bought a few face masker, serum and moisturizer. This feeling is so real and I'm having a guilty pleasure. Is this impulsive buying? Well, I guess so but this is okay since it been a while since the last time I buy the skincare. I can't wait to pamper my skin!  Oh, btw the salesperson conned me saying the make-up remover is a free gift whilst she quickly put it inside my cart. I wasn't that aware since I'm running out of time. My mom was waiting for me outside the store. And the sparkling bag was a free gift since I purchased the Pink products above RM 50. I did the price checking through

Buttermilk chicken

Hey. Sat, 2rd May 2020 These days, I couldn't find the joy of eating white rice. I look through the soc media and something tasty crossed my mind. What would it be? It's been a while since the last time I eat buttermilk chicken. Only by thinking of it make me smile. I can't wait to enjoy the food. Well, it is the month of fasting so I have to wait till Maghrib. Put it aside, my mom cooked Nasi Daging with air asam but it is not my liking. I decided to cook my favourite dish for my family. As simple as the name itself, the ingredients are all present. I plucked the curry leaves in the backyard, minced the garlic and chillies, deep-fried chicken that coated with egg and flour, add in milk and cheese. All the dairy products! Simple right? I drop the video here for you to enjoy and if you find it useful, you may use the recipe as well. This buttermilk chicken tastes so delicious. I adjusted the recipe a bit from my usual by adding the evaporated milk. This is way t

Almond pulp cookies

Hey. Fri, 1st May 2020 Day 8 of Ramadhan and I am so grateful and blessed. As promised in the previous video post, I will share about how to make cookies from the almond pulp. What is the almond pulp btw? It is the leftover of almond after we squeezing out the milk when making almond milk. The texture is a bit moist and not too smooth (no need to dry it in the oven). Keep it right away in the fridge. To put it in a simple note, almost likely the almond flour from the store, but that is the dry version of it. Worry not, I never knew how the almond milk taste like until I made it and the same goes to this almond cookies. I have no judgement over this recipe though. HEHE. Oh FYI, this is supposed to be vegan food, whereby you use the egg replacer or some people call it 'chia egg' (merely mix the chia seed in the water) and avoid adding flour. I added it btw. Just don't mind me, please. I find it a little bit awkward to make cookies without plain flour. I wouldn&

Almond milk

Hey. Thur, 30th April 2020 Another great day for being able to breathe and to live a new day. I've been busy for the past few weeks, helping out my mom to take care of grandma who is not in a good state of health. However, since yesterday she started to recover way faster than we expected. Well, this is what we're praying for so long. I can't bear to see Mom not able to sleep at night since my grandma's bad habit came past midnight. Mom also met the doctor and he prescribed sleeping pills for grandma since she had a nightmare and sometimes was disturbed by 'something' that only she can see ( psst don't ask me what was that, I absolutely have no idea) I wouldn't say it is a ghost, but rather a restless spirit who had things to do with those people who came to visit my grandma for the past week. This is a mere assumption made by my sister and me since she never acts this strange before, as much as I ever think of it. Well, let's put that asid

Recipe: Overnight oats

INGREDIENTS  1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk 1/2 cup  Oats (I used Quaker Oats) 1 tablespoon Chia seeds, more as a garnish 1–2 tablespoons unsalted nuts like walnut, almonds, macadamia nuts, etc. 2 tablespoons dried or fresh fruit (I used banana) INSTRUCTIONS Place almond milk, oats, chia seeds, and nuts in a small saucepan and let it come to a boil. Cook about 5-7 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Place it in a bowl and garnish it with more nuts, dried fruits and chia seeds, if preferred. I rather do the simplest way; Pour almond milk, oats, chia seeds and nuts in a container and let it sit in the fridge overnight. Slice the banana on top of the overnight oats before enjoying your food or any preferred dried or fresh fruit that you are dying for. (I forgot to take a picture before eating, so nothing to put here hee) You may add in anything as you preferred because sometimes I will use dairy milk or milo.

Dalgona Milo, Froth or Fail

Hi. Fri, 17th April How are you feeling? I am doing my best to make full use of my free time. Loads of em hehe. We are having such a great rainy day. This is what I long for since a week ago. I was not sweating much since yesterday.   While I'm in a good mood, let's make something fun and easy.  My mom and big sis keep on bugging on me to make 'Dalgona Milo'. I always make Dalgona coffee but it was not their cup of tea, but they finished them every time(lol). Well, I have prepared a video for that. I just realized about the vid last night while scrolling down my phone gallery. It happened to be there and I did some voiceover as usual. Hee Oh btw, I do not know how they get the viral name of Dalgona, but this is actually the frothy coffee, to begin with. Hope you enjoy and find it helpful if you about to make it.  Haha you never know that you can be a homemade barista yourself! (but trust me your work is still an amateur style) Need to practice
