Sangkaya with ingredients from home

Hey.

Mon, 4th May 2020

Woke up this morning and been craving for Sangkaya by Boat Noodle. I looked up for the recipe and the recipe looks simple and something that I'm confident with.

I asked my mother whether she felt like eating it and showed the photo. Well, she approved! I took the pandan leaves with my mom's company because I don't know much about it. Hee. Yep, another leaves that we have in the backyard. I'm so thankful for having it at home or else I need to go and buy them (what a hassle).

The ingredients:

Sangkaya
(Blend)
6 pieces of Pandan leaves
1/2 cup of water

(In a saucepan)
(you may swipe the ratio bet these sugary items if you have a sweet tooth)
2 tbsp of palm sugar (I used brown sugar)
1 tbsp of white sugar

1tsp green food colouring
1tsp salt
1 tbsp corn starch
1 small box of coconut milk

1/4 evaporated milk (for serving)

Steamed bread

You may use any bread
I used white bread (gardenia)
(optional if you want to cut off the brownish edges before steamed it)

Cut each slice into 4 parts
Steam for 15 minutes ( don't let the vapour to fall on the bread)

No worries, I prepared the video as usual. If you find it useful, try it at home and drop your comment below. Enjoyy!
